The Bureau of Corrections is now accepting applications for Corrections Officer 1 for its 2023 Recruitment Cycle (nationwide).

GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS
- A Citizen of the Republic of the Philippines;
- A Person of good moral character;
- Must have passed the psychiatric/psychological, drug and physical test for the purpose of determining his/her physical and mental health;
- Must possess a baccalaureate degree from a recognized learning institution;
- Must possess any of the following eligibilities:
- Civil Service Eligibility - Professional Level
- RA 1080 (Bar or Board Examination)
- P.D. 907 (College Honor Graduate Eligibility)
- Penology Officer Eligibility
- Police Officer Eligibility (July 1998 onwards)
- Must not have been dishonorably discharged or dismissed for cause from previous employment
- Must not have been convicted by final judgement of an offense or crime involving moral turpitude;
- Must
be at least one meter and fifty-seven centimeters (1.57m.) in height for
male, and one meter and fifty-two centimeters (1.52m.) for female: Provided, that a waiver for height and age requirement/s may be granted to
applicants belonging to the cultural communities; and
- *Must not be less than twenty-one (21) nor more than forty (40) years of age.

The age limit for applicants for Corrections Officer 1 as per R. A. 10575 or "The Bureau of Corrections Act of
2013" is forty (40) years old. However, those above thirty-six (36)
years of age will have to sign a waiver agreeing that they may not be
able to qualify for the full retirement benefits afforded to a uniformed
officer of BuCor.

- 2 pcs. of latest 2x2 pictures
SALARY
Corrections Officer 1 will receive a gross monthly salary of P37,338 upon oathtaking.
DEADLINE
Deadline for the acceptance of application folders shall be on April 28, 2023.
HOW TO APPLY
Applicants may submit
their requirements placed in a folder properly TABBED and LABELLED to
the BuCor NHQs Human Resource Division or any of its Human Resource
Units in the six Operating Prison and Penal Farms (Subject to guidelines
of the concerned LGU), namely:
- Correctional Institution for Women (Mandaluyong City)
- Sablayan Prison and Penal Farm (Sablayan, Occidental Mindoro)
- Iwahig Prison and Penal Farm (Puerto Princesa, Palawan)
- Leyte Regional Prison (Abuyog, Leyte)
- Davao Prison and Penal Farm (Panabo City, Davao del Norte)
- San Ramon Prison and Penal Farm (Zamboanga City)
All applicants are hereby informed of the following guidelines:
1. Acceptance of application folders shall be from 0800H to 1400H only. No submissions will be accepted past 1400H in order to allow for the proper evaluation of all applications.
2.
Deadline for the acceptance of application folders shall be on April
28, 2023. This is to allow the smooth facilitation of the entire
recruitment process.
3.
All applicants who shall submit their application folders at the NHQ
shall form at the NBP Sunken Garden stage to be given instructions
regarding the receiving of application folders at the HRD.
4. Each
applicant shall be given a stub that they shall present at every stage
of the Recruitment Process in order to track their progress along the
way. Without the Recruitment Stub, applicants will not be entertained.
5. Only 2022 applicants shall be allowed to pull out their application folders for re-application.
6. Applicants
who do not make it to their scheduled screening process, except for
justifiable circumstances, shall not be recommended to the next
screening procedure.
7.
Applicants must wear white round neck shirt, maong pants, white rubber
shoes, white socks, black garrison belt with silver buckle, and surgical
mask. Males must have neat hair cut while females must have their hair
tied in a bun.

QUALIFYING EXAMINATIONS
Pursuant
to Section 34 RA 11131 or "The Philippine Criminology Profession Act of
2018", Registered Criminologist are exempted from taking the Written
Qualifying Examinations (WQE) and will immediately be scheduled for the
Neuro-Psychiatric Examinations.
Criminology
graduates holding eligibilities such as the CSC Professional Eligibility
as well as applicants from other disciplines will have to take the WQE
as the initial screening step of the recruitment process.
